Design Challenge
Design your own professional brand identity. It must be distinctive, authentic, and memorable in order to evoke your brand essence. Done well, it will provide a competitive advantage to position you from others in the field. It should describe succinctly who you are, what you do, and what you promise to deliver.
Creative Solution
My professional brand identity aims to capture who I am as a designer. I wanted to embrace my cultural heritage, funky spirit, and bold design style. I experimented with thick, quirky fonts, eventually landing on Bacalar. I noticed how the lowercase ‘g’ created interesting shapes due to its contrasting structure. I used a traditional Chinese seal with my Mandarin name on it to create stamped patterns that I then scanned, halftoned, and placed inside the letter. I paired the design with a simpler sans serif font, Indivisible, to compliment the brand identity and messaging. Every element of the brand was thoughtfully crafted to reflect my professional values, aesthetic tastes, creative process, and detail-oriented personality.
